see how awesome u r zoologist!!!! look at u helping all those turts get healthy. :D

weesnack: i think that's fine that they bite the frozen chunks...it should thaw out mostly when it hits the warm water anyway. the might enjoy it more if you nuke it first though.

i asked if it could be a sticky. i think a few more people need to try it before the mods can consider it, and i agree with that.

i serve the jello shots to my turtles frozen and they don't mind it at all.

For home brew ideas, I think it might do very well in a DIY section. Overall, good job!

Yes, this should be a sticky! I made a special batch of these things yesterday using fruit instead of veggies. I blended all the ingredients together so it got all foamy on the top...they look like pink turtle smoothie treats!

I Appoligize if these questions have been answered somewhere else on the site, but here goes:

Where can you buy calcium powder? Is there a specific brand to buy? Roughly how much does it cost?

On a side note, how long does it take to make this fabulous creation? :)

you could just use some cuttlebone and crush it. just take the hard backing off

i use rep-cal calcium supplement, its like $7.50 for a little jar. i bought it at petsmart.

it took me less then half an hour to whip these babies up.

i wouldnt make them with fruit because turtles can process sugar like humans can, so fruit is not too good for them except as a rare treat.

i get my cuttlebone and just rake a fork across it so the powder is all in the mix.

yep, takes me about a half hour or less (then leave it to set) and i'm super anal about it...haha!

this is so depressing.

i got my pay today.
the first thing that came into my mind was to buy the ingredients for the turtle jello shots (paying the utility bills came next, teehee).
i went to the supermarket, bought the ingredients.
i was taking everything out the bag when i realized i completely forgot the unflavored gelatin.

tsk. i guess i'll have to postpone the whole thing for one more day...

Everything I own is on my back, and suffice it is to say I am one ton lighter and therefore 2,000 pounds happier. All houses are gone.

Very creative!!!
I've made something like the jello shots before, except its more like a nutritional ice cream. It feels like ice cream too, and my turtles love it.

I didn't put any veggies in the ice cream though, I thought it would lower the nutritional content. I want to post it up :P
