Steve, the slimline is what the platform is made of, not what is in the back of my tank.

I love the basking area -cant wait to show it to my husband also - how is it when it comes to cleaning filters and tank- do you just take top off - can you get into the tank when ya need to? Thanks for the ideas. Awsome work!!!!!

Yup the top just lifts off and so does the platform :)

I have no idea to be honest. I was looking for a background and the guy at our local pet shop had this stuff on a roll and gave it to us. I will ask next time I'm around there and see if the guy remembers :)

Hello, I love your tank! Great job. I know this is an old thread, but I'd like to ask some questions about this setup. I just got a beautiful 125 gallon tank and stand and want to make a nice above tank basking area for it. Is there any information posted elsewhere with more detailed information about the construction of this above tank basking area?

If not, how did you lock the upper tank into the lower tank? What thickness plexi did you use for the upper tank walls? How did you attach the upper tank walls to each other and make the upper "tank" rigid enough to move around? How has the basking area material been holding up (back to nature material). Steve, have you found any good materials here in the USA that are like the basking area used in this ATBA? Thanks.
