Hey guys, i have 2 RES they are 6 months old :mrgreen: :mrgreen: . today im planing to make a new tank for them its around 29x16x17 inc (lenthxwidthxheight).My tank height will be 17inc, so from the top how much distance would i keep for a basking area e.g. should i make basking area on 14inc that means from top it will be 4 inc distance.

anther question is what should i use SAND or PEBBLES??

That sounds good, though you might want to know they will be able to get over that. Sand is a good substrate.

If you use anything besides sand use river rocks. I got mine from the dollar store. They look awesome. Also how big is your tank? What kind of filter are you using. Also be careful with placement of the heating lamp above the basking area sometimes it can be too hot if its closer than it should be.
