Anything sturdy in the tank, you can probably clean in there then do a water change. In one tank I have tile on PVC supports. While it's easy to take apart and take out, it's a bit of a hassle and just a single slip can ruin a tank. I don't know what yours looks like, so I'm a bit weary about commenting more about it.

Make sure you cycle the aquarium properly before starting your new community. This will reduce maintenance and help pet health. Also gravel siphon is way to go. Never empty a tank 100% and never replace filter media except the charcoal. The ceramic hold beneficial bacterial changing and or thoroughly cleaning it and you'll lose that
