I've had this little girl for a while, her name is Kif. She somehow ended up in my yard even though there are no openings in my 6 ft wooden fence. It makes me wonder if a bird dropped her. Anyway, she was the size of a quarter so I raised her up into a 5g. After a while, I switched her to a 20gL and now she's in a 40gB with my male RES. I'm moving them out to my 100g pond as soon as the weather warms up and then I'll upgrade once Kif grows again. Bender is already full grown and several years old.

My question is if Kif is a Florida Cooter or not. At first, I thought she was a YBS, but I looked at her plastron and her head/neck/feet and she looks like a Florida Cooter to me. But, in some pictures of other turtles, she also looks like a Peninsula Cooter. What do you guys think? What type of turtle do you think she is? She gets along great with my RES and he keeps displaying for her. They're so cute. Anyway, I'm also wondering what species she is so I can also get a rough estimate on her potential size.

Thanks in advance!!

Looks like a Florida cooter. Are they wild in your area?

Yes, they are. I'm in Florida! Haha. I just wanted to see if I was right with her identification. Thank you. :)
