Hi!! I wanted to have all of your input. I was wondering if it is a good idea to keep a red ear slider in a Christmas tree storage container on my patio. Currently, it lives in a kiddie pool. I thought maybe the tub would be better because its a little more deeper than the kiddie pool. However, I will lose the round surface area that the pool has... I am not sure what to do.
I live in California, Los angeles. Thank you!

Most plastic storage containers are OK, you will definitely want water levels higher than the turtles length but he will also need a basking area. As for keeping him outdoors, that depends a lot on the temperatures.

I will be setting a basking area if I decide to switch to the tree container. But I'm worried that the turtle will not enjoy the long surface area and would prefer the pool. Haha

That's not bad, are you keeping the turtle indoors or out?

Currently, it is outside. However, I might move to San Diego in 6 months and really wanna bring the turtle with me and set this tub thing up indoors or outdoors if I am able to....

Oh yes! Would it be safer if I bought two tubs and keep one in the other to make it possibly stronger and to keep the tub from bulging out? Just in case I do wanna keep the tub in my room.

It's a bit small for outdoor use. Yes, 2 might help keep it from bulging. but small cracks might still develop.
