I have a pet turtle about 9-10 months and was wondering if I could teach her tricks. I've been trying to teach her the naruto hand signs and she almost did one  but it was a pretty easy one (sheep)

I don't know what kind of tricks you can get them to do, though I'd be very impressed at anything beyond basking and eating :)

If I ask Fred or Poke for a kiss they stay still and lift their heads reach to touch noses. Fred will "kiss" my wife as many times as she asks him. Fred would watch TV on the floor and then sneak out of the room, i would call him and he would return with his head down and then do it all over again.

Ive trained terry to eat bugs off a stick, also got her to understand directions if I point to a spot in the tank she will look to find her food. When I bring her out of the tank to roam around shell come to you when you call her, I was also impressed she def knows where the room with her tank is. When shes ready she heads back to the room, if im too slow shell try to push open the door, hasnt opened it yet but come close. They got some pretty strong legs!
A while ago I had a ramp with a basking area, when I put it up she immediately went up to check it out then slid down into the water. She looked up at me then went up and did it 10times in a row, had to make sure I saw her too, was so cute
Last week when she was out she came across a cats ball. I tried to see if she would play pass to no avail lol

My turtle follows my finger as it moves across her tank, if I turn it slowly, she will turn around too.

yes, they're very smart.

My interactions with my nephew's turtle has been amazing!
I helped take care of the turtle whenever I visit my brother's house, as my nephew neglect it most of the time...

:msgreen: recognized me, and will respond to my callings.
She is very curious too, likes to "spy" and watch what I'm doing. When you look at her, she will turn her head and face the wall. LOL.

She recognize food containers' colours and shapes, when she saw things resemble it, she will swim towards it thinking there's food.

When I try to take a picture of her, she seems to always able to look at the camera, as if she just know where the lens is???

Damn smart.
