Habitat - Indoor :: Cheap Submersible Heater

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

So, I am setting up a small fish tank for our VBS this year and I bought a cheap little heater. After I pulled it out I realized that it doesn't have adjustable temp controls. It says preset for reliability. My problem is that it doesn't say what the temp is. Any ideas?

I haven't added the fish yet, and I had to leave it cycle. I won't be back until I take the fish back...I was just curious what kind of temp I am going to find when I get there...

A cheap heater I've used had a dial but didn't tell you what the adjustments were. Anyway, I have my money on 75 :)

Check the water temp with a thermometer.

I'll check it, I was just hoping to purchase the fish before going back to check the tank temp. Better to be safe than sorry though, so I'll check before buying!

i bought a cheap heater at walmart a while ago.. even in the winter, and also in the summer when the AC is on, i found myself having to keep the heater all the way to the coolest spot on it so the water didnt get too hot.

does the one you have just have like a + on one side and a - on the other?
if so, its probly like the one i had

No, it doesn't...it had no adjustment whatsoever. That's why I mentioned that it says "preset for reliability". I'm kind of annoyed really, and thought about taking it back. But I didn't have time, and as long as it gets the job done for a week, then I don't care. Once I come home they are being moved to a larger tank anyway. I just didn't want to have to move my larger tank in. I'm lazy, lol.
