ok i've had my filter for a while and my turtle loves the flow of the water,
but i noticed it has a plastic tube on top of it with a black plug on top of it.
i dont noe what it is used for? and also should i put it on maximum filtage or low? when its on max the flow becomes stronger.

What kind of filter is it? Got a picture? I keep all my filters on max.

Well, turts can do alot of things thet will make you scratch your head and wonder why. I figure as long as they seem to be enjoying themselves, let it be....It sounds like you have an in tank filter. How large is your tank?

if it is an over the back aquarium filter the tube hangs over and into the tank which is where the water gets sucked up, the "plug" is probably the flow rate plug. it makes the flow of water heavy or light when you spin it.

E as in Emperor? If so, its a H.O.T. (hang on the tank) filter.
