Habitat - Indoor :: Just got a new 90 gal. tank

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Well I bit the bullet, cracked open the ol' wallet, let the moths out, and bought an All Glass 90 gal. tank from Petland Discounts, a small NE chain. I paid $199. I was thinking of getting one of those oak cabinets till the salesman told me the price.......after I got back off of the floor I got a simple iron stand for $69. So the whole thing was $268 plus NJ tax. I think I got a good price, since the major chains wanted $350 plus for just the tank! Its 48x18x24. My little guys will have to take a cab just to get to the basking ramp!
So do you think I got a good price?

To be honest, it is a bit high. I think it was mentioned earlier that various stores (forgot which) had a sale for $1 per gallon. All Glass is a good brand and I'm sure your turts are thankful.

Petco occasionally has the $1 per gallon sale but it's only up to 55 gallons.

Thanks for pointing that out - I didn't recall a limit, although it makes perfect sense. A 300 gallon tank for $300 is reasonable ;)

I was so excited thinking I would get my bigger tank for only $90 and have been watching for the sales. Then I read the fine print. :(

Sounds great! I bet your turts will love it! :D I think that's a good price, but the prices where I live are a lot higher than in the big city, and generally the prices in the "big city" are still more than the cost in the US :P

Im gonna buy a 165 gallon from big al's. Its gonna set me back 450 bucks. What i DO like about it is its a perfect cube. 48" by 48" by 36" high. Its a whopper. Theres no way youd get a 300 gallon tank for 300 bucks. Im thinking about having it drilled for a 20 gallon sump. What do you guys think?

Sounds like a plan...But I'd consult a pro first, drilling tempered glass is not for the squimish!

Why do you want a sump? With the money you're investing in it, I don't think it is necessary.
