Ok I was thinking and wondering if anybody has ever tried this but you know those big pools that you can buy at wal mart the ones that are like 5 feet tall the big blow up ones that don't need chlorine not the kiddie pools but the big things that are like mini pools but they fit alot of people like real pools. You should let your turtle go out there and go swimming with it tell me if this isn't good for the turtle but I thought it sounded like alot of fun! :D

I don't know about the big ones but lots of us have used the little kiddie pools and the turtles seem to love them a lot. You were thinking of swimming with your turtle?

It depends on the personality of your turtle whether your turtle will think it's fun or not. If you get one of those extroverted, fearless turtles then he just might enjoy it a lot. But if his personality is more cautious and shy, then he might find it terrifying. It also depends on how closely you and your turtle bond. Does he view you as a friend or some big head that might eat him up?

I wouldn't try it with a little one - it would need to be an adult turtle I feel because the adults are so much more confident that the little ones. The little ones are usually pretty skittish.

The things people objected to before when this subject has come up were the chlorine in the water and the turtle finding the experience frightening. If you don't chlorinate the water, then the water would go bad very quickly so you couldn't use the pool but for a short time. Also, let's be honest. That turtle's going to go to the bathroom in the pool. Does that bother you? You know turtles and fish go in the lakes that we swim in, but those are usually very large bodies of water compared to a little man-made pool.

Things to think about.

Yea, and if your turtle is one of those fearless ones like Spotsmama said, they may go after you if you're in the pool with them. Think Jaws. except with a shell.....

Maybe you could just watch him in the pool?

Overall, I think the best route to go with the whole pool idea, if at all, is to just let your turtle swim around on its own. Hopping into the pool with the turtle doesn't sound like it'd be fun for him, in my opinion, and probably isn't worth the risk of stressing him out.

I'd wait a few years till he got to know me and not one of those concrete pools with chlorine but there bigger than kiddie pools so if he pooped in there you just empty the water and its a blow up pool so you just empty it when your done. if sombody can tell me how to put pictures on here I can show ya'll the pool.
