Petco Aquarium Sale (possible dates)

I have read on another forum that the $1 per gallon sale is starting 8/28 at Petco. Dont know if this date is accurate but it should be coming soon. Employees at Petco have also told me it should be in early September. They have also said (as did the source at the other forum) that the tank sale includes aquariums up to 75 gallons. Past sales have only advertised tanks to 55 gallons.
Rumors galore - so stay on the look out.

if it goes up to 75 gallons this year im there. not that much bigger than the 55 i have now but its too good to pass on.

Never hurts to ask an employee or manager. I wouldn't be surprised if they got their details wrong

An employee told me yesterday the the sale only includes up to 45 gallon. But the store here only carries up to 45 so that may be why he said that. He also said that they dont tell the employees when sales will occur until the day before. Its all hush hush!

Do all stores nation wide have it on the same day? Why do they keep it a secret?

I believe it is so secretive because they do not want to diminish sales prior to the advertised event. If everyone knew weeks in advance no one would buy at regular price. I am sure they make no $$ on the aquariums - I checked out a 45 gallon and it regularly goes for 129.00. It will be $40 next week. So they use the promo to get people in and to buy other products, fish, etc.
All of the stores should be participating. And you can register online to receive their sale ads by email I think.
