At walmart they go for a little over 100$ but they include a filter and water heater.

Not a great deal, you should be able to find that for $60-70.

About the cheapest tank 55 gallons and up I could find on craigslist in Orlando was for about the same price. I actually got one of these from Pet Supermarket recently and it included the hoods. From what I could find, this is a premium deal especially since it isn't used. I believe it is a holiday sale though, so hurry if you are going to find one.

Most of the time, I use glasscages.com as a reference for prices on new tanks. Petstores will be more expensive, though they do have good sales on occasion. Glasscages can bring their tanks to local reptile shows that they frequent too, for a small fee.

A good deal of people also get their glass aquariums used... those are probably the best finds.

Glasscages will definitely blow away anyone's prices on aquariums (it's almost unfair to use them as a price reference ). I doubt you could find brand new tanks anywhere at those prices. Even with shipping, they are still very competitive. But like Steve said, you save a lot if you can get in on their group deliveries.

Very good point. I don't remember the last time I was in a B&M petstore... and I'm sorry to say that they don't have an upcoming one near WA. There are other dealers at these reptile shows... the event's website should have a list of exhibitors... but you have to find the event first :)

Where are you located? Here in California that would be a good price. Most 55 gallon tanks are $130+ brand new. All though I found a GREAT sale I am going to tomarrow morning, I'm getting a 75 gallon for $70! I'm so excited! So yeah, that's a good deal, but maybe keep hunting!

Wow, I wish I could find a 55 gallon for $95 dollars. Around here in kentucky just the tank is $130-$150. Stand will set you back another $80-$100 if you go with the metal stand. Wood stands are about $125. All of this is in the petstore (we only have one petstore in my town). Craigslist isint any better. Most tanks in my area are going for $100 or more. But If I go to walmart, I can get the 55 gallon kit for $195. It has the tank, two hoods, filter and heater in it. But they only have like 2 or 3 kits a year, they dont keep it in stock very often.
