Alright all, I've got it set up. I'm still waiting for my new Rena filstar XP4 filter, that I'm excited about. But I wanted to put the pics up for anyone else that's dealing with aggression and thinking about dividing their tank. I think it turned out really well.

I decided not to use egg crate, mostly because Home Depot has been sold out for like the past two weeks so I got tired of waiting. I ended up actually using a natural wood window curtain. I think it looks really cool.

So I've got Jebediah on the right side there and Ezekiel and Napoleon together on the left side. Seems to be going well so far.

Whoa! Neat looking! What are you using as a basking area? It looks like you've got a whole crapton of those turtle logs in there, is that what it is? What did you make the divider out of?

That's actually all cork board. On the right side, that's actually Jebediah's design of three separate pieces. I had them floating around in his other tank, but none of them were really strong enough to hold him, so i put one on top of the other. Well, he didn't like that at all, so he rearranged it like a bridge from one piece to the other, so I just stuck some toothpicks in them so that they would stay that way. Kinda cool that he arranged it himself though

The divider is actually a 24" natural bamboo wood window curtain that I bought at Zellers for $10 Can. (which for you Americans, it's similar to a Walmart type of store). I really like the way it looks over the plastic white egg crate and I think the water still flows pretty good through the spaces in the bamboo.

I have to ask - are you sure the gravel on the bottom is too big for the turtles to eat? Do you know about the horrors of gravel that's small enough for a turtle to swallow?

I have one concern about the wood divider... was it treated with anything? If so some of those chemicals can leech into the water and hurt or poison your turtles. And if not, aren't you worried that it will mold and rot? I have to say it does look neat, I'd just look into a safer alternative if need be.

I was going to say the exact same thing.

Yes, was the bamboo treated with anything? Sometimes it can be treated so it will last longer.

Yeah, I made sure to get the natural wood, so it hasn't been treated with anything. It's been in there for 2 weeks now with now side effects. There has been a little mold that I noticed, but I clean the tank every two weeks anyway.

When I cleaned out the tank, I took out all the small gravel and just left the river rocks. I try very hard to have a safe and natural environment for my turtles. I'd actually prefer to replace wood things after a year than to have plastic in the tank, even though it's easier to clean.

I'm happy with the setup now. And my new filter and power center timer arrived, so now it's going to be absolutely wonderful!

Whoa! Look at those claws on Ezekial! He also has a very large tail as well!

Nice job on separating them. I'm sure your turts will really appreciate it in the long run!
