Squirtles new home

I purchased a 10 gallon tank for now. My brother in law is going to give me his 30 gallon as the turtle needs it. I purchased the UVB bulb and I am going to use a regular light bulb for heat. I also have a water heater and filter. As Squirtle gets bigger I will adjust to his needs, but I feel this is good for him/her right now. What do you think?

It looks nice!

How big is your turtle?

Looks nice... I know Squirtle must be happier now. He'll still probably take a few days to adjust. I think they all do. :)

I really like your set up for Squirtle, it looks very "homey" for a turt.

Squirtle is just a hatchling. I got him last Saturday. He/She still has what I think is the Egg tooth attached. It is a little white thing near it's mouth.

That is his egg tooth. :) Our turtle still had his for about a week or so after we got him and then one day it was just gone. So you know he's very young if he still has his egg tooth.

Very nice.. but i don't see a uvb light? or is it hidden behind the open flap?
If you look at the plastron, can you see a little split or a hole? That's the yolk sac spot :D

The UVB Light is hidden for now.

I am so relieved I did okay with this tank. I know he/she will be happy now. Thanks to all of you........ :D

Nice. :) Is the UVB bulb a tube? If so, make sure there's nothing covering it like plastic or glass.

It does have plastic, I will remove it. Thank you......

It looks like you have the same heater I have for my fish aquarium, they are nice but expensive.

Yeah, $26.00. The place I went to I was refered to. The owners are knowledgable (I don't know if I spelled that right, it's early). It's a mom pop aquairum store that specializes in all types of reptiles. I told them what I had and I bought a checklist from the information I got on this forum. He just gathered everything together for me. This heater does keep the water warm, but I have to set it at like 60 to keep it at like 75-80.

Your baby is so cute. I like the second picture in the plant. That plant looks huge next to the baby.
