This is their basking area. I bought a half log, placed it upon some BIG rocks placed on the bottom, wedged a small piece of wood from side to side of tank to stabilize it, and Viola!! a place BOTH turts can hang out and bask under the lights (sorry, those floating docks just didn't cut it for these 2 guys..they are tooooooo big for even the biggest floating dock). Plus, with added room under the rocks, Sheldon loves to slip under the log and sleep at night. In the spring, I can then transfer this log out to the ponds and give them a sense of ownership without having to find a new place to bask.
