My only comment is to remove the small gravel, since turtles can and will eat anything smaller than their heads, and they can become impacted and die.

Any of the fish ever "mysteriously" go missing?

I had heard that about the gravel and seen him try but he always just gums it and spits it back out, I do plan on getting more of the bigger rocks next time I get a chance though. As for missing fish, every now and then he'll get a swordtail or guppie but I most the time I see it happen. It seem that when he sees me he gets hungrier thinking I'm going to feed him. Or if he's sleeping or passed out basking and I disturb him or turn his light on he wakes up and hunts for fish. He really loves to wake up and go straight to digging up my anacharis just to eat the roots
