Looks Awesome! But seems like your losing a lot of swimming room with all that rock. Ever think about getting a floating platform or an above tank? I took a jumbo and a small basking platform and combined them with wood screws. It gives as much area as what you have for basking, but allows them to swim under it also. But it doesnt give the cool cave inside the cinder block lol

Yeah I used floating ones before I put the block in and put some rock on top of it. My problem was that the wood I would get would just sink after like 3 or 4 days of water so I just decided to put some blocks up and stack them.

oooooooh, yeah you got to get those floating platforms for like $11 at a pet store. There styrofoam covered in some hard epoxy that keeps the turtles from eating it. When you open the box there a yellow and grey mix of plastic, really not pleasing to the eye at all, but after baking under the heat lamp for a while, they turn an awesome reddish brown and dark grey, then some algae grows around the edges and they look like they belong there.

they sell a really cool above tank basking deal I'm going to get when I got the extra cash

Yeah the turtle topper. I think you can make a better one cheaper if you just get some wood from a store. Make a full hooded topper the length of the tank :P

yeah I would actually have to customize it to sit on top of my 8ft x 18, it's only made for a 17" front to back tank. I like the little turtle swing under it though lol

Nahh i dont think so they seem to learn the tank really quick so i think they know its there tank.

and I was TOLD it was a 45 Gallon Tank by the person that i baught it from but It seems way to large for 45 gallons...they are gettin pretty big and even with 3, they have SO much swimming room, it dont look like it in the pics but they swim all over the place with no problems :P

I actually have the same problem..i got my tank for free from my uncle and the box it arrived at my house in said its a 20 gallon but i have seen a few pictures..of 10 or 15 gallon tanks that look pretty close to the same size

and also while at pet stores i see tanks for sale that look alot bigger but are a smaller gallon so theres something "fishy" going on here haha
