Hey there! Almost, it's actually only a 20 gallon tank. I haven't done an exact measurement, but she looks only about 3 inches so far.

Zorce: She's used gravel since she was basically a hatchling-- so no, she never eats it. I'm aware that it's considered a hazard, but I don't believe she will suddenly start eating the stuff after so many years.

I have the same underwater rock (we call it the "cave") in Bowser's tank!
She used to use it as a basking area in her old tank, since the water level was pretty low.
She also used to sleep in the cave every night, but now she sleeps in random places throughout the tank.

Ashley: Hey, same here! When Mello was very small, the rock was also her basking area, due to low water level.
Hmm, still wondering about what other stuff to add to her tank for "hiding places". Mello has a tendency to eat/bite/try to eat most everything she sees..

For some reason everyones 20 gallon tank looks way bigger then mine.... My eyes are playing a trick on me!

Haha, yeah the photo does make the tank look bigger than it actually is. And Mello is also smaller than she looks too.

I'm 95% sure she is female-- her claws are very short, and the plastron doesn't look concave at this point. Then again, maybe I need to wait a few more years for things to show.

Kinda hard to tell the sex 100% sure at his/her age.
