i have a question i see the ridges along your turtles scutes, mine have the same thing but they arent raised, does that mean they are going to shed soon or they need to?

They're overdue to shed... retained scutes can sometimes indicate fast growth.

is it dangerous for that to happen?

When my female RES had retained scutes (caused by a fungal infection), she had several layers of retained scutes. Since the scutes were thick and white, I could not see through them like normal scutes in the process of shedding. This obscured the fact that water and debris collected under there for a lengthy amount of time. Anyway, there were several areas where there were infections eating into the seams and scutes. I don't know what it was, but it was a yellowy liquid in some pits, and the seams were soft, very loose in fact. So I carefully removed as many retained scutes as I can, and did the best I could to disinfect (diluted betadine, hibiclens) and dry dock with a MVB. Also had blood test done to check for any residual infection.

She came through like a champ, but has a few pits in the shell which should lessen over time.
