Hi all. These are some pics from this weekend. Sorry for the quality, its my fones camera. He is doing good, just made the 3 in. mark. He is eating good. His heater went erroneous and caused his water to drop to 72 degrees. So I had to order a heater and it took 2 weeks to get! But everything is back to the appropriate levels again. Basking area is 95 degrees f, water is 76 degrees f. and room temp is steady at 70 degrees f. All his guppy tank mates didn't survive the move and all that is left is their offspring. Thats the breeder net you see in his tank. Hope you enjoy. Take care

yeah Steve, I totally agree with you. I'm still a believer he is infact a he, lol. With the slow growth and all, he seems more like a wild turtle than a captive turtle. But, I do have to admit, he can beg with the best of them;) But I don't give in, he has greens available 24/7 and gets three large Reptomin pellets a day. Once he hits 4 in. I will cut the reptomin feeding to every other day.

He can probably get a bit more Reptomin, and slow, steady growth is a good sign.

really Steve? How much do you recommend? 3 large pellets is the amount that would fit in his head.

You mean if his head were "hollow"?

yes thats what I mean, he is not a big turtle. Barely 3 in. SCL Heck I would say he is right at 3 in

Regarding head-size, I would think it's bigger than 3 Reptomin. Unless they have a different pellet out there.

oh yeah he loves green leaf, red leaf lettuce and romain. I'm waiting for more greens to show up in the stores here. He eats greens all day lol. Plus carrots on occasion

Nice turtle :)
I really like the substrate you have! Looks like it's just the right size so it doesn't get kicked up and create a cloud of sand!
Do you have a whole tank shot? Looks like there's lots of plants in there. He doesn't dig them up too much?

I think I'm jealous of your tank! Maybe time for a remodel of my tanks!

He has been in this tank since a hatching. Its only a 40 gal breeder, with about 5 fake plants and play sand from walmart. This is a old pic I have taken the grass out since then.
