This is what I see every morning; Strawberry and Kiwi Bikini saying: "Hello, goodmorning, where is our food?"
I love how they always peek just above the water with their eyes.

Pretty intimidating stares :) Don't be surprised when they start splashing water all over the place to get your attention.

It's fun at the beginning...but then you can't walk in the room without them stopping and splashing. lol

Totally true, that's why i only feed them in the morning, they don't really ask for food during the rest of the day. I still like to watch them do their thing, roaming around the tank, chasing the guppies and shrimps :)
They kinda know I only give food in the morning and no food means no attention for me, haha

Thanx!
I use a cannister filter from Tetra and the basking area is a "Turtle Cliff" from Exo-Terra it also has an additional little filter in there :)

how do u keep your tank super clean? huhu.... i have to change d water for mine every 2 days...
maybe due to the fact that i couldn't resist their begging eyes for food. they eat 3x a day.

Haha, they're good beggers indeed.
I think the water stays so clean because the filter(s) have a lot of overcapacity.
And i think not feeding to much also helps, my turtles grew way to fast when i fed them a lot, so know I feed a lot less, they get a little piece of waterplant every day and different pellets every other day. And I don't feed the guppies and the shrimps, they'll eat whatever the turtles don't, they even eat what the turtles díd eat, if you know what I mean ;)
I only change the water once every 1,5 to 2 weeks and that's not because it's dirty or smelly, but i think it is just "fresher".
My tank is in the livingroom, in between our couches so it wouldn't be good if it would get smelly, but luckily that never happens :)
I do use a spong every week to clean the alge of the glass and decorations. Then afterwards it's a little cloudy, but the filter always takes care of that in 2 ours or so.

does your tank stay cleaner due to the sand on the bottom? I have rocks on the bottom of mine and it traps alot of food so im trying to see if switching to sand will keep it cleaner. I use a fluval FX5 and it seems to be doing a good job but its a pain taking out the rocks to clean the entire tank and I also have a pleco with i think wil help get waste off the bottom?
