Added sand to his tank today, and got rid of the gravel. He seems to be pretty happy with the change.

Looks pretty good! What kind of sand did you use?

Silica sand I got from my LPS.

If you just added it today it seems to have cleared up very fast. Looks good, nice job.

I rinsed it very thoroughly before adding it to the tank.

Slow down on the feeding, his shell is showing a little pyramiding.

I give him like one, two pelets at most a day. I'm pretty sure some of that was before I got him.

Is he getting any veggies other than that java fern he's about to nom nom on?

He doesn't eat the fern. He's been munching on some red leaf the last couple days.

Lucky. I had to start a separate planted tank for mine as he munches down everything in site.

I thought it might be a problem when I added him (the plants were there first). But, he's never tried to eat them. He ripped up the roots a little bit, but even that has stopped. He slowly munches on lettuce, but that's it for green stuff.

Have you tried any carrot / other non green veggies?
