My friend found this on her military base and I have no idea what it is! Is it a tortoise or is an aquatic turtle that's seen too much sun? :/ I'm stumped TUrtle TaLk! I get to see it later tonight, pics compliments of my friend.

hello! could it be the ornate box turtle? this has the closest markings compared to the picture. not sure. you can check this site:

I also think it's a Ornate Box Turtle but also looks pretty close to a Florida Box Turtle.

So what do y'all think? Does she get the clean bill of health? Do I need a separate heating lamp, structured diet? I can't believe someone left this amazing turtle out to die smh!

That is DEF a box turtle. you can tell by how its feet look. for one, its feet are not webbed for swimming and its head is beaked out more then just about any Aquatic turtle. Iv found these guys in my back yard before. the Ornates are usually pretty common from people who have them and put them just loose in there back yard, they move, the turtle digs under the house or under ground to hibernate and you move in and the turtle comes out in the summer and you happen to stumble on it chilling in your yard. Happens ALLLLL the time. there real cool turtles even tho they stay super small compared to even a red ear slider

Lol we renamed him michealangelo lol and aww Steve that's awesome! Does she look pretty healthy, my friend is keeping her and we gave her a water dish too,! That's a basking UVA/UVB light
