These are my babies... turtles Bert & Ernie and my albino cockatiel Jack. Jack has separation anxiety. I can't be out of his sight and he has to be on my shoulder at all times or he flips out. Bert & Ernie are about 4 months old. Jack is 1 year and 5 months old.

Is Jack blind as a result of being albino? I had a teacher in hs who was albino...for all essential purposes he was blind. Cute pic! What does your set up look like?

Jack has perfect vision. He will screach and yell for me the minute I get out of eyesight. I love that bird so much, and as a result... I've created a spoiled monster.

I just moved Bert & Ernie temporarily to a 15 gallon tank. I've been researching for their permanant tank. I'd like to install an in-wall 150 gallon tank. But, that will take a lot of planning, money and construction. I've thought about installing it in the wall above the bed as a headboard. It would be nice to watch everything before I go to sleep.

Does anyone know of any websites that have instructions on installing tanks in the walls? I've seen them framed out with moulding. They look fabulous.

I've thought about that kind of thing in the future as well, but for 150 gallons it would have to be really thick (thicker than most walls) or really long. Either way, you also have to look at the demensions of a full grown turtle and plan accordingly. I don't know if it would work for them or not. I want a fish tank between the walls where I can see them from both sides. Right now the bathroom is on the otherside of my bedroom wall, so that isn't really an option, lol.

I'd question putting a turtle tank in the wall only because of the cleaning aspect of it, I can't imagine that it would be easy considering how much messier turtles are than fish... but the idea does sound wonderful

Lovely bird. My cousin has a cockatiel (but not an albino) and Chaz (the cockatiel) is a real hoot---very demanding for attention. He loves to make wolf whistles and tell you that you're his sweetheart. I think they're interesting pets.

But, my heart belongs to your two green cuties. Bert and Ernie are adorable.

I'm going to have to rethink the tank in the wall scenario. I think that the only way that it would work would be for a pass through tank that is visable from 2 rooms. It would have to hang over the wall to allow for a thickness that works for a grown turtle. That will have to be my next house. I don't have any extra walls where that would work right now. And, that's not exaclty ideal for a headboard situation.

Cockatiels are a hoot! Mine demands a ton of attention

wow what a lovely bird i have a cockatiel his name is spike and he kinda has that thing with me too. when im in school he is always singing and screaming he doesnt let anyone else touch him but me so my parents just leave him alone until i get back. ohhh nice turtles by the way lol.

Such a pretty bird. Does he talk? My aunt used to raise cocktails. She would work with them for hours teaching them to talk. One of them would whistle the Andy Griffith them song and tell you, your pretty and say he was a pretty bird. He said a lot more. The turtles are so cute too. I wish mine were still that little and green.

Wow TinySlider! I can't believe that you have 8 turtles! Where in the world do you put them. You must have tanks all over the place.

My fiance taught Jack to whistle Dixie. He does the whole song and he will also do the wolf whistle. He just recently learned to mimic the birds outside.

I want my turtles to grow and be big! They are just now getting to the point where they are not too shy. They are eating out of my hand. I was able to pet the pet store turtles on the head. They just sat there and closed their eyes. I'm looking forward to Bert and Ernie growing that tame.

Vivi, thanks for the turtle compliment. Spike, that's a GREAT name for a cockatiel. I met someone today with a canary named Ricky Martin. I thought that was a great name for a bird that sings!

Our biggest turtle (Pan Handle) is about 4in. The smallest is about 1.5 - 2in.
