SO CUTE!!! .. my only suggestion for you is to fill the water higher or turn your heater the horizonal. it looks like the heater is out of the water a lot. it might break if its not submerged fully. you wouldnt want that it could hurt your little cuties if it does!

Some heaters are not submersible heaters. I have a couple floating around that I don't use, but they cannot be placed fully in the water. I'm not sure with the one in the pic, but that could be the case. The filter could be the reason for not filling up the water any higher as well. But, if it isn't, then I agree with filling it up more.

That is one of the prettiest and exotic looking set ups. I like the stairs in the corner.

The pics are nice. :) How many gallons is that tank and what are the sizes of your turtles (shell lengths without the curves)?

the RES's are 3" and the map is 2"

the tank is a 20 gallon long. 30"x12"x10" i believe

A 20-long is good for around a 2-inch turtle. If you've got 2 RES, that's s 6 inches, plus 2 inches from the map for a total of 8 inches. Ideally, they should be in an 80-gallon tank, at a bare minimum a 60-gallon tank (I'm pushing it here), but bigger is even better. RES in particular are territorial. You would lessen chances of bullying/aggression with a larger tank.

i filled it up with more water and moved the filter up......so evertything looks ok now.

they all actually get along together, they even let the map bask on top of them...pretty cool.

im getting a pininsula cooter on thursday or friday....its about the same size as the map....hopefully they all get along. like the one in the top of the picture minus the algae on the shell.

where do you buy all of your turts?

Prospect, your tank is already waaaay to small for your turts, why would you get another one and make it worse?

I have to agree with Brianthedog...overcrowding will stress them (and I'm wondering if that had anything to do with that baby Map's demise).

Do you have any idea how big cooters can get?

Having multiple turts is fine, but their habitat should be big enough to accommodate them.

dam thought a 20 gal would be sufficient enough for now......so a 60-80 for 4 or more
