Their set up includes:
18x10 7" high ExoTerra tank
ExoTerra basking lamp
Zoomed 501 external 30 gallon filter
Tetrafauna automatic heater

Basking areas in corner and all of back side with a mini pool that Criss dug up back there and likes to sleep in

I moved them away from the window because its getting cold and now that their bigger I'm getting a way bigger tank, i got my eye on this 36x18x12
that means more water lol

Those are cute little guys! I imagine they will be even happier with the correct set up. Right now what you have is too small. Even with an upgrade planned, the upgrade size mentioned is too small. That little kissy thing could easily turn into aggression.

If my calculations are correct what you have is 5 gallons, and what you are planning is 30. When I first got started I had mine in a 10 gallon and upgraded to a 30. With two RES that upgrade didn't last more than 2-3 months. They are in a 75 gallon tank right now, and are fast outgrowing it. I did all of those upgrades in a years time. If I hadn't already owned those tanks, then I would have wasted a lot of money. I don't want to see you do the same thing. Rubbermaid storage containers make excellent temporary homes if you need. They come in larger sizes and are a lot cheaper than traditional tanks.

Yes they do have clear ones but as you can see they are not crystal clear...(the lid is what I'm talking about)

Somewhere there was a post about durability and color vs. clear. I don't remember what was what. There are also rubbermaid stock tanks. They can take up a lot of room, but so will a tank. In the long run, a stock tank is going to be cheaper than a traditional glass tank.

The people working at many petstores often don't have a clue when it comes to a proper habitat for aquatic turtles. They like to recommend those turtle tanks (the ones with the end cut out for a hanging filter) also which are a bad idea because it only allows you to fill the tank halfway with water. Use the rule of 10 gallons of water per inch of turtle. Keep in mind that your turtle depending on if they are male or female will continue to grow over the next several years to be anywhere from 7-12 inches. And since you have two turtles if you plan on keeping them in the same tank you will need to calculate both of their sizes in determining the tank size.

WOW rubbermaids...great idea I think I will do this with MY RES if they keep growing at the rate they are because...The pond wont be done until June
