I'm still not sure if I'm even using the darn thing right. I have the sensor on one end and the probe on the other...is that right?

Very nice pics! Julia is so cute that she makes me want a ball python. She is the prettiest I have ever seen for her species. Dog and Poe look great too! I would love to have box turtles in the future, but I don't have the space quite yet... I do have my husband convinced that turning a whole basement into a huge reptile habitat is a good idea when we buy a house.

Mine dose not have I probe, its all internal. I think with your model you can mount the sensor outside the tank, and the probe is the only thing that measures the temp. Do you know what I mean? Or do I just sound crazy to you?

No, you don't sound crazy..lol. As far as I could understand from the instructions, the sensor tells temp to because it said the probe was optional. Guess I'll figure it out soon enough

Oh ok, So you don't think it shuts off the sensor when the probe is plugged in?

Oh...um...I hope not. Aw crud. I need to read thru that instruction page again. If it did disable it tho, how would I still get 2 different temperature readings?

What do you mean? Dose it rotate between two temps or do you mean the two temps that are on top of each other? If you mean the temps on top of each other I think that is "indoor" and "outdoor." Or in your case "intank" and "outatank."
Once again, I am no expert I'm just telling you how mine works (which doesn't even have a probe).

Both temps are displayed at the same time. I'm assuming one is the reading from the probe and the other from the sensor. I asked a friend of mine who is familiar with them and he said I'm using it right *whew*

Jen, your babies are the cutiest I've seen! If I had more space at home (and wasn't so terrified of rodents), I'd probably have a snake or two.
