THose are very cute pics! I'd be interested to see his whole setup, a lot of people have tried sand on here but I haven't seen many successful pics of it... mitch is adorable.

Thanks for your comments. yes, the 2nd picture was taken when we still had 2 turts. also, the sand has since vacated the tank. it has such a cool effect, and mitch loves to burrow in it, but it's just SUCH a hassle. we're enjoying the clean mirror-bottom look nowadays. Thanks everyone!

I love that top picture---it reminds me of a chubby baby starting to crawl. He's (?) got that "World, here I come" look in his eyes.

Haha they look like they're on an exotic adventure.
If I could go back in time I'd get a female Mississippi mud turtle. Their average size is 3.5 inches! Dang store owners said, oh well this 20 gallon "turtle" tank will work forever and ever. hehe
