I hope everyone approves of my new setup... I'm am sad to say he is not my only turtle... I have another turtle living in my old ten gallon tank... I posted some time back about him... he has no back legs and he is really sick.. the vet told me to separate him from my other baby.. My other turtle bob was born with no back legs and seems to have a weak immune system as says the vet... the vet gave him some kind of shot but said only time will tell.. I hope bob makes it for he may have no back legs but he was very active and loved to play...

I am glad you took all of that gravel out and gave him a larger setup. I think you can still put quite a bit more water in though. It was a wise decision to separate the two turtles. I hope Bob can overcome his disabilities and prevail and thrive!

What size is your new tank, or I mean how many gallons? Great new setup.

Nice setup! Are those fancy guppies? Aren't they more expensive??

My tank is a 20gal long tank... I wanted a 30gal but couldn't fit it... yea they are fancy guppies but I didn't buy them they were given to me so I put them in thinking they wouldn't last long but my baby can't catch them but one day he will but for now the guppies just add to the look of the tank... I'm going to take lotsofpets advice and add some more water but I'm not sure I can for my lighting system is a combo one 15w reptisun 10.0 and one 60w heat bulb and I fear if I make the water higher it will be too hot for him to bask for it hit 90 as of now.. I also have a night heat lamp on the other side but don't use it that much... I want to add some live plants but not sure how to keep them down plus scared it will clog my canister filter.. I do have a piece of bamboo floating in the water.. it is growing well but my turtle does nip at the leaves....

I don't really know what you mean by breeder setup? I don't think it is...

A breeder tank is much wider than the normal tanks. The angle of that pic makes it look wide....

I wouldn't use the night heat lamp, period. From some sites that I've read it says that it can cause blindless quite quickly. Turtles are like humans and need complete darkness to sleep well.

The tank looks beautiful, I love the background! You know why BREEDER tanks are wide? Well grey goose posted a picture of his turtles and I bet they'd like a breeder tank instead of a PVC tee.

You know what I mean. It's easier for us to sleep when it's dark then it is with a hot red lamp in our eyes. The site also said that the lamp is harmful to the eyes. Just picture sleeping everynight under a glaring red beam of light...don't you think it'd be a little annoying?

Also, I admire the fact that you are caring for the turtle with no back legs too. That's awesome!!! It's nice to hear about people who genuinely LOVE turtles.
