Those look like some pretty hefty turtles. I see what looks to be one female (with that little tail how could she be anything else?).

really? I have no idea..which one's female? I should've taken tail and claw pics but I guess I'll do that this afternoon. I wasn't sure if they'd be sexable yet.

I thought their shell lengths were over 4 inches...Or do I have the size wrong?
The pic of the turtle that shows the tail--can you get a pic of the claws of that turtle? If that turtle is over 4 inches and were a male the base of the tail would be getting thick and broad and the tail would look "full". From the picture, the tail looks really thin and small. Where is the cloaca positioned?

no, they're 4.5 & 4.75 inches as of last month but I've never had an adult to compare them with. Seems Pandora's nails are longer than Rocks' but they could just be growing at different rates. Haven't been able to get a good look at the tails either..
If I get some close up tail/nail pics hopefully you could enlighten me.

My male RES showed characteristics after about 2 years which is how I knew the other was a female. Its possible you have 2 females!
Also, try to hold the camera further away when you snap the picture.. the focus doesn't seem like it's cutting it.

Steve, I was actually thinking that, but didn't want to be the bearer of what might be considered to be not-so-good news.
I wish I had a digital camera to show Tilly's tail--he's got a really big, thick one. Both the nails and tail seemed to sprout when he got to be 4 inches.

IMHO, 2 females should be less of a problem than 2 males or a female and a male. Jen's got to make sure she's got some nesting areas!

In some respects less of a problem, but I was mainly thinking of the ideal space required for 2 adult females.

Unless you have very tiny hands, how is that possible. Mine are way smaller than that and my largest is 4" (we just measured them) Flutterby's hand is 7" from tip of middle finger to wrist.. and in the pic of JT which she's holding there's plenty of hand space left .. lol

am I some how measuring wrong??

I dunno man. I put each of them on a piece of paper. Marked the bum and the head and measured the space in between the two lines. This is with the head and tail tucked in. That was over a month ago tho so maybe they've grown? I have been told I have small hands..maybe that's it...

well we just measured mine and they grew like 1/2" inch in a month. No wonder I can't tell which is which .. well the "boys" anyway, at this point I'm not sure what I have either. Think they'd let me take a pic with tails and claws out.. NOOOO.
I just know yours look HUGE compared to mine

I think I'm going to measure them again tonight..and weigh them too.
