Looks spacious, great!

You can raise the water level though, if your concerns are about splashing onto the lights, you need not worry, a turtle your size shouldn't make a big splash. Just raise so that it can't climb out.

The rocks are fine, but a lot of maintenance? ;)

Nice setup! It looks like the basking ramp is built into the glass. Is there any way to raise it so you can raise the water level?

thats a really kool setup man! I do agree tho, the water level should be raised. if that one basking area is built right in, i would just cover it woth rocks, put a few fake plants around, and you have a wonderfull cave for the turtle to hide in since they are scittish fellas. i did that with some rocks at home when the dudes were small enough to fit in the cave.(like thats ever gonna happen now!)

Excellent idea! The rocks and plants will add a real natural look.

Great tank! How many gallons is it? And little Bamboo is precious!

About the gravel in the bottom of the tank though......Most of it looks a little too large for your turtle to swallow. Your turtle's growing, though. When he gets a little bigger he'll be able to swallow those rocks. And there are probably some smaller pieces of rock in there that he could swallow right now.

There have just been too many threads on here where turtles have eaten rocks with disasterous results. People don't know it's dangerous because the people in the pet stores don't know, and it's ok to put rocks in with fish so why not with turtles?

Here are some threads on why it's not a good idea to keep gravel in a turtle tank:

(the person in the thread above took the gravel out of the turtle tank immediately when he found out it could be dangerous but it was too late, the turtle had already eaten some.)

I agree with spots mama, I suggest getting river rocks and taking that gravel out asap.
