I got Serra on March 3, 2007. Which makes today the 45th day I've had her. This is what she looked like when I got her.
This is how big she is now. ( see the distance between each of her scutes!) Those are her baby scutes!
Hey I got an idea! What if we all, at the end of each month we put a picture of our turtles beside a ruler? That way we can see how fast turtles grow and how much (A frequent question on this forum)
Cheers,
Kevin

I think thats a great idea. I have been wanting to monitor the growth of my little hatchling, Tortuga - and now I have someone to compare with! yay~! I got Tuga mid March so the two may be very close to the same age.
Serra isn't a RES is she? I love her dark color and the bright contrast with her markings.

lol how big is Tuga? No, Serra is a Eastern River Cooter, which grows a bit bigger than RES
Just wait till she gets 15 inches or more....0_o

Whoa! 2 inches in 8 months...
And you know how people hold their turtles sometimes as though they were burgers? When Serra grows up , she wouldn't just be a burger, she'd be an entire combo meal

wooOOOooooW 15+ inches!?! That is huge. I foolishly bought this little guy during a visit to Florida for 8 bucks, not having any idea how big s/he would get. After devouring the information on this site I have to say I don't regret getting this RES at all, and I am in fact looking foward to watching him/her grow to be huge! Right now Tuga is a little over an inch I'm guessing. I just took some pictures of her/him - should get them up by tomorrow.

Hey, Kevin, I just looked at your photos on your website. They are incredible! Did you take all those pics? How many of those animals are yours? Like the Green Tree Python, the Panther chameleon (is that a female? which type?), the Macaw, the Grizzly???

. I love the venus flytrap and the nepthea pitcher plant!

LOL not all the animals are mine. I listed all the animals i have in my signature
Most of the animals were either in a zoo, the Vancouver Aquarium, or from the wild

lol the grizzly was sorta in the wild and sorta in captivity. I was in the mountains in this tourist place on a school trip and there was a fence to keep the bears out (and people in) and I took the picture when the grizzly came ambling by...
lol Serra was sold as a YBS, but she's not a yellow bellied slider.
She's a female Eastern River Cooter. You DEFINETLY don't see those in pet stores too often...
She can get up to more than 15 inches...
