Van Dusen Gardens
I just went to Van Dusen gardens today with my mom , grandma and sister, and it was AWESOME!
The entire park was HUGE! We took two hours to get everywhere!
As we stepped out onto the wooden deck there were lots of plants and intricate decorations for sale.
Right under the deck was a small pond with lots of different kind of lilies with a mother duck and her two small ducklings. They must have been used to human company since I could get very close to them.
We went past this flowerbed with LOTS of purpley flowers
After walking a bit, we come by this ENORMOUS pond/lake. By the edge were the hungry mouths of carp, opening their mouths wide at the surface.
My sister points out some turtles basking on this mini-island in the middle of the pond.
Red ear sliders
Then we go by more plants...
Then we come upon ANOTHER pond, this one less bigger than the last one. I got VERY close to a basking YBS
One of the many leaves that gave us shade
There was also a maze in there, too! I got to the middle and out in 5 min, but my mom, grandma and sis took a lot longer
They also kept bees there...
trees and leaves
I felt something watching me...
Some VERY tiny little cacti growing in a rock planter.
There was also a bonsai show going on there, too
This one was awesome, it looked like it was uprooted by the wind...
I like the colour on this one...
and here's the overexcited dog greeting use after we came home from the Van Dusen Botanical Gardens.
