My Video of the recent flood here in NH

This was the 3rd major flood in the past 18 months. Each of them were considered 50 year floods. Most people who lost their homes in the last one still hadn't even received their federal assistance checks before this one hit again. Many have given up on trying to rebuild and are going to try to start over somewhere else, if they can.

Most of this footage was taken within a mile radius of my house. Fortunately our house is high enough above the river that we only had minor flooding in only part of our basement. I sank an automatic sump pump in the basement floor after the last flood (had 2" of water covering the entire basement before that).

For some reason the last minute was cut off the end of the video. :?

Scarey. I personally would not drive over a bridge with that kind of water raging below. Glad you're on high ground!

Yea during the first major flood in the fall of '05 was the first time that I had ever seen that little brook that flooded and I though it would give way back then. But it's withstood 3 floods now and now that I think of it, with those concrete walls it should be able to hold out for a long time...I hope! Otherwise, we'd be cut off, at least by car. I can still take my 4x4 through the logging roads behind my property to the next town over.
