When we were in the process of a long distance move OH to NY. I was putting the turtle from the bin to the bathtub at the hotel. She got pissed and bite me on the hand. It swelled up for a day or so then got much better. I never went to the doctor. Do I have to worry about samanela (SP) or any thing else from a bite? This is the only time she has ever been aggresive she gets handled a lot out of the tank. Thanks for your help.

If it didn't break the skin, I wouldn't worry, but if it did, I would have your hand looked at, just in case.

I am sure that most of us have been bitten, I was bitten, but I wanted them to do it so I would know how hard they bite, not too bad, I guess the younger you are, the more you feel it.

If you bitten, but it you don't think it broke the skin, take an antibotic if you have one, I've been told it can reduce an infection by 99%.

I would have a doctor look at it, just to make sure it didn't get infected.

If you get salmonella, you'll know it. I think checking with a vet would be a good thing, just in case.

Yes, then visiting a doctor would be the right thing to do.
Good luck.
