We went into a local petstore yesterday, I wanted to see if they had any baby dragons or leopard geckos..... But they are closing for good. So I started looking at what animals they had left. They had a skink..sorry too close to a snake, icky flicking tounge. And on the top shelf I saw this cute little face poking out off a rock. So I do my normal, pet through the glass baby talk thing... and he put his head down like a dog does to have you scratch behind his ears. That was it... I was done for.

They have him in this crappy 30 gallon turtle tank with a large zoo-med dock that is resting on rocks. He has virtually no room to swim. They have 2 filters and some other stuff. The woman tried to tell me it was so perfect for him, I must have given her one of those, "Are you really this much of a moron" looks... So we were going to go down to pick up the whole lot of it, but Eric decided that we would get a filter, some lights and a heater, and put him in my mom's rubbermaid container, which is already better than what he's in. I'm looking into getting a 100 gal stock tank, found a rubbermaid for $68 and change so...

Oh and Brianna named him Simon. He's definately a He... log nails and a huge tail. We'll get pics when we get him home.

And the addiction grows.. as Eric said to me last night.. Now I'm getting into this. He was talking about building a big enclosure .. hahaha. Just to think it all started a year ago with me babysitting turtles!!!!

Not to mention that this woman was a complete idiot... she said to make sure I didn't put my toads in with the turtles because "turtles like the taste of toads".

I don't know what planet this woman came from, but I wanted to smack her. Hello!! First the toads can/will kill my turtles. Second, I know turtles will eat anything so why would I put my baby toadies in with my turtles knowing they would be eaten? I don't know how I find these idiots but geeze.
