I don't think there's a set rule on that

I see mine yawn occasionally, say once a week or so. They may be doing it more when I'm not here but who knows. Is yours doing it often? I've been told it can be related to RI and other illnesses but if there's no other symptoms, I'd think it would be totally normal for any animal to yawn just because he's tired.

Well, yesterday I noticed him yawn like three times in five hours, should I be worried?

Not unless you see other symptoms of illness such as: lopsided swimming, bubbles from nose or mouth, puffy eyes, open mouth breathing.

Do you mean like foaming bubbles from the mouth?
I am worried now Neptune yawns a bunch. He does have bubbles coming from his nose and mouth but it looked like normal breathing to me . . .
He is probably fine, but I just wanted to check. I haven't had him too long. Goodness knows how he was treated before I got him.

Bubbles under water are no problem. If he has what looks like snot bubbles (for lack of a better word) coming from his nose when he's on land, then you've got a problem.
