How big do RES get?

I tried to find it on the forums but couldn't so if it's out there I apologize.

A male RES can get up to 9 inches long, while a female can grow to 12 inches.

I know the tank we have is okay for now. My husband leaves in a week for Deployment. Maybe when he gets back we will get a new one . . .

Neptune is about 5" in a 50 gal.

so March would probably be good.
