... ...

Sunny... the little hatchling that was living in my pond along with Shady and Scooby is suddenly missing. I don't know how he could have come out of the pond because the water is about 5" lower than it should be.

I think it was the toad that was in the pond last night when I saw him sitting next to Sunny on the rock that was coming out of the water. It was late when I was taking my dog outside when I saw that toad. My dad told me that he could have eaten him.

I scared the toad and it jumped out of the pond. i have no idea where Sunny is right now. I hope I find him soon.

Good luck finding him--could he be hiding in the plants? Is the water temp getting cool this time of year?

I'm not sure if toads can eat turtles, but if it fits in the mouth, they will go for it. Bull frogs are known to swallow down hatchlings.
Where and how big is your pond? How big are the turtles?

I don't have any plants because Shady eats them all. I checked everywhere in the pond, backyard, and even the neighbors yard. I informed the neighbors about the lost and nobody has found him.
After I knew he wasn't in the pond, I was so desperate that I put up a sign that said "lost turtle". the water temp. is the same. around 76-78deg.

Sunny was my sister's turtle but she doesn't know that he's lost yet because I'm the one that takes care of it.Sunny was such a good turtle too. he was so healthy and active and very cute. I loved his shell color

I just rather have him lost than being eaten by a toad... :(

Sunny was just 1" long. My pond is 100g. and in my backyard next to a fence and the fence has big ficus trees for privacy.

Dispite others opinions, I find it impossible letting a little one in a pond especially outdoor. Bigger turts, you will be able to spot easily, but the youngens are so small. I'd be too nervous. But enough about that

I'm not so sure what to tell you :( Except that I hope that you find Sunny soon. I wish you and your sister the best of luck
