i think my turtle is blowing bubbles! whenever he is underwater he makes this sound that sounds like a squirting noise. and there is bubbles all over the top of the water.then he basically eats the bubbles and spits out more bubbles. is this normal or is something wrong? its kinda funny acctually :)

Sounds like RI to me. I'll leave it to someone with more expertise to fill you in on the details. I do know that if it is RI you should raise the water temp to 80-81 degrees.

It doesn't mean its an RI, he could be exhaling underwater. If they were more like "snot bubbles" then I would be concerned.

Bubbles underwater is fine, if you begin to see them above water, raise the temp and get him to a vet. Other than that, he's fine.

Trust me, my turt has an RI right now :( but it's OK, I'm makin him better!

my turtle will go under water, open his mouth and let out huge air bubbles and then frantically swim to the surface. he is eating, active and not open mouth breathing...so i think it is just a little game he plays!
