How long have you had your turtle?

I've read somewhere that an RES can live up to 70 years and I've been joking to myself that Prometheus will live longer than me. I was wondering, though, how long you're had your respected RES?

1.5 years they are doing good :D, i wish i could say the same for my snail in there, he hasnt moved for about half an hour now, i hope hes sleeping or scared, hope my turtles didnt kill him, but, i guess the rules goes, "whatever you put in your tank has the potential to be lunch".

I've only had mine a bit over a year. About a year ago, on the old turtle talk forum, there was talk of a woman who got her res as a kid in 1957 and still has him now. I think that's the extreme tho. I've never heard of a 70yo aquatic turtle. I know my boxie could live to 100 and torts have long lifespans too. I think more typical for a res is 20-30 years with good care.

I've had my RES for a little over 3 years now. I know of two other keepers with aquatics (cooters) that are 40+ years old. With proper care, diet and no overfeeding, I think a RES can live as long as well.

I've had my RES for five years. He was a wee little hatchling when I got him, cute but ornery, now he's a grown boy and oh so sweet. Not an ornery plate in his carapace. He has never been ill.

I've had Michelangleo for about four months now. Today would be his fourth month here! And he's doing great. He's still as much as an odd ball turtle as the day I got him!
