Hi again,
I am thinking about getting 2 RES sense we had to move and I couldn't take my RES buddy on the airplane because he might not make it and it's against the rules for internation flying to country to country

.So I have just moved in and I loved RES so much that I feel that I should get two this time

! So I was wondering about what gender would be compatible without to much fighting?
Thanks,Victoria

There is no guarantee about compatibility, especially with RES. RES are more aggressive than most other turtles (this is partially why they are considered invasive).

ok thanks I was told that even without the male res the females still lay eggs but is that true? Also if I do get 2 females wouldn't that mean that I would have to build a nesting site?I know that they are not frogs but I was very interested to see if that was true.

If you have one female or 100, you will need a nesting site. And yes, they will lay infertile eggs.

Males are more likely to fight with other turtles. If you are getting ONLY one turtle, I would get a male.

This is the reason why you should only get one turtle.. too many variables. One male is all I'd get if I had to do it all over...
