I haven't had too much luck lately but hopefully that has changed. I bought two baby eastern painted turtles 3 weeks ago from web site A. One baby dies within 48 hours and the other is doing well " Tony". I tried to replace her with an order from web site B on Feb. 5th , but horrors of horrors, they just had an automated message on e-mail stating that it was paid in full, then NOTHING. The e-mail provided on the web site is ignored and the phone number listed is continuously busy. No way to get ahold of anyone. Still no turtle so I figure it is never coming. I did file a complaint with the better business bureau, which I have never done before - interesting process. I do plan to contest the charge when my credit bill comes in - but what else can I do to warn people ? I don't think we are allowed to mention names on this forum, but don't want anyone else to go through this.
Happy ending, I ordered a replacement from web site C on 2/21 and got him today about 1/2 hour ago ! He was packaged much better ( then web site A ), with a heat pack and intructions to deliver before noon. I guess it pays to be persistant, that's it for me !
He is extremely active and swimming all over. Tony checked him out and approved. I shall name him " yertle ". I will post a picture when I can get it. :D

Congrats on the new baby. A quarantine period (several months) would have been good to help make sure the new baby doesn't have anything Tony could catch...What size tank are they in?

they share a 40 gallon long ( screened off with about a 10 gallon space) with two RES and are getting their own pad soon. OH MY GOD ! they are so cute together ! I can't seem to take him out .Tony is already perching on top of Yertle to bask. Then they hop in the water and swim together. Who said turtles are not social ? My two RES are like that also. I will watch them carefully for any signs of problems, no respiratory probs, shell is intact - looks ok at this point and is quite active. They do have a separate basking area/ light/filter from the main tank also.
