Hello, has anyone travel with their turtle by air before?(traveling to oversea by airplane). Several time I went back to my country and I really want to bring my turtle with me, but my mom told me that they may give my turtle a shot and all that procedure before I can ride on airplane. And there's no way I want my turtle to get a shot because I can't imaging how painful that would be for this tiny thing. Also I don't know if they can endure the pressure differences on the airplane or not......One of my friend actually fly two of her baby turtle from SF to eastern coast and they didn't catch her at all, she said she must have just been lucky.

Anyway, if any of you ever have experience traveling with your turtle let me know.

Mine were shipped by plane but it was only an hour flight. They survived just fine but they had to go in the un-heated cargo hold. Your best bet would be to just call the airline and ask.

try getting information from a turtle rescue group.I wanted to send my son his turtle but it has to be packaged so it can breath and not flip over and stay warm. I worried to much so she now lives with me.ps try delta.

RESCHIU, I'm thinking of flying my turtle to Denver with me, I was wondering if you'd had any luck with determining if it were possible to fly a turtle safely? I've had no luck talking to anyone with a brain in the airline industry....

These are just a few of the resources that I pulled up while the kids were at lunch. Turtles over four inches are ok to bring back to the US...all animals coming into the US are treated as though they are entering the US for for the first time. Beyond that, it's up the individual airline.

Hey everyone, so I finally figured the whole turtle+ airplane thing out. You have to call the transportation security administration because even if the airline allows turtles (USAir does p.s) you have to make sure your turtle can make it through airport security, which apparently they can... so hopefully that helps anyone else travelling...
