turtle is trying to move rocks or something in her tank. I would think she is trying to rub her shell but she is sometimes using her legs and positioning herself to give herslf leverage. Almost looks like she is trying to find something. Only does this with one large black rock in the bottom of her tank. There is no gravel and tons of swimming room, just upgraded her into 55 gallon tank about a week and half ago and only had her for like 4 weeks. everything else is fine with her, eating good and basking like normal. Just wanted to know if this is normal behavoir or if i should be worried. She is just over 4 inshes.

I've heard that they play with the rocks, moving them around and stuff. i don't know if that's exactly what you're talking about but it's completly normal

I got a bunch of rocks from the craft section at walmart. They are big enough that they can't be eaten, but small enough that the turtles can push them around. They love digging the piles and pushing them against different rocks. If given the opportunity, they will rearrange your decorations!

Your turtle is trying to rub her carapace against a rock? My RES will sometimes rub against objects to help him shed scutes. If the rock is really abrasive, you might want to remove it.

All the rocks are pretty smooth so i think she is fine.
