School Visit

I'm in Biology and our teacher is having us teach sections out of our book. I happened to pull reptiles out of the hat. I need a visual aid, so I'm going to bring my turtle, and try and edumacate people about them. I've having my mom bring me my turtle right before class, and she will pick her up right after class. Anything I should be aware of or anything cool to add to the presentation?

On another note, I know someone that has a baby RES, they didn't have a setup, so I gave them my old ten gallon aquarium, heater, pump, filter, rocks, etc for free. Her turtle is like the size of a quarter.

Remember that this may stress your turtle, so keep it comfortable as possible. Do not transport him in water. And remember that he should be a visual aid, look and not touch kind of thing for the class.

Good of you to give your old set-up to your friend. Your friend's turtle will be much better off for it. :)

How long is the trip to and from school? Transport your turtle in a container with a moist towel under him and a towel over him so he can burrow under it. I'm assuming there are no temperature issues here (no cold or really hot weather). If you transport him in a container that's keeps out light, he'll likely sleep, and the trip will be less stressful for him.

I live about a mile and a half from school. I already asked my mom to fill a rubbermaid thingy with the aquarium water. Then have another container with moist paper towels for her to go in. I've been reading up on the info! :)

Yes, I won't be letting anyone touch the turtle except me.
