Hello fellow turtle talk users,
I don't know if any of you rememer me, but I used to have an account (yoyoninjaturtle) on turtle talk and I used to post regularly. Well, now I am heading off to college and my parents have given me few options. They want me to let her go in a lake, which could be harmful to my turtle as well as the local ecology (foreign bacteria, vice versa), or give her away to someone. I would like to give her away, but there isn't anyone I know who I trust well enough to take care of my turtle. If any of you could please open your homes and hearts to my four year old Waffle. I would be immensely grateful for your kindness. I will also send my uv/heat bulb along with her (used for only 3 months).

Thank you for your time,
Kevin

P.S. If you were wondering how I would get my turtle over, I will use a box filled with soft moss and make sure it's slightly moist and i will send her as a live mail overnight to her destination. Please please plase help me! thank you so much javascript:emoticon(':D')
Very Happy

you cant bring your turtle to college with you?

i am also in college and although we arent allowed to have anything but fish.. ive never had any problems sneeking him in with me..

definantly do not let your turtle loose into the wild, he wouldnt know how to survive.
i agree, its a huge pain in the [---] having to bring the tank and all the turtles goodies to college with u when you have all the other crap you need, but just think, hes your pet!! dont give him away unless you absoluetly HAVE to.....
IMO

If someone here is able to house another turtle, it would help to know where you're located :-P

For a last resort you can post an ad in your local paper that you are looking for adoptive parents (or foster parents), and that way you can screen who takes your turt. If you went the foster parent route, then you can get the turt back on vacations and after you graduate.

I'd sneak him in though, lol.

haha yeah, I live right next to evhs too, I just graduated this year. I'll see how much the shipping cost would be to ship the tank over to arizona, and ill get back to you.

If nothing pans out, you could try finding your turtle a new home by contacting the California Turtle and Tortoise Club. The have local chapters throughout the state. http://www.tortoise.org

Thanks so much!
