I just went on an AOL search and got onto a site that sells "salmonella-free" turtles. They claim to use the Siebeling method of cleansing, but I doubt it. See Concordia Turtle Farms LLC

Misleading in advertisement...marketing something that isn't proven.

I noticed another comment on their homepage..."The customer is always right" Hmmm, in a way, it makes me want to be a customer...does that mean I'll always be right after that, and that they have to listen to me? HA HA

ive lived in louisiana my whole life and never once have i heard of a turtle farm. oysters yes. turtles no. they dont talk about turtles here. its always alligators here. you'd think with as many turtles we have in our city parks they'd talk about them more but they don't. noone cares here. not even the aquarium and wild life and fisheries.

Louisiana is probably the largest producer of captive red ears. It seems a lot of the farms are family businesses dating back to the pre-federal salmonella laws. It's unfortunate that they make enough money to keep going.

its sad ive never even heard of it. i could understand a few but do we have to have 56!!!! my lord they probably have millons hatch every year. which would probably be contributing to the amount of turtles in our parks.

Hmm, never knew what the hell the Siebeling method was besides a thing to "remove" salmonella. How does it work anyway, or is this what Mr. Siebeling declines to say?

"The next step is certification that the turtles are "Salmonella Free". The state veterinarian samples every lot of 20,000 baby turtles."
