Well, i was at petsmart yesterday buying a new filter for my turts.
i took it to the clerk to pay for it. and she goes "what are you using it for"
(i guess just of curiosity). And i say well, my red ear sliders of course. And the lady goes. WHAT!! those are land turtles, i cant believe that you have water in their tank! And i was like omg you work at a petstore and dont even know how to care for a RES!!!

so i walked back into the reptile secton of the store to look at their RES's tank and it was at least a 75 gallon filled with water and a large zoo-med turtle dock. On the way home I lmao.

:D Just one more reason why we recommend not listening to the advice that comes from pet stores....

yea, on one of the threads i just read,
she said she went to a pet store and got a RES i think 4'' and the sales person said a 10 gallon is fine.

i think the petstore ppl need extensive internet training.

I think some pet store people need extensive training period...That isn't to say all though, some people really do have a clue...I just haven't found them.

Yeah, they told me at Petco, that my turtle needed part land and part water....I was like...how in the heck do I do that in this type of a tank? Till I read up on it...poor Zeekers only had like 2" of water....I felt so guilty once I learned the truth.
